Share Your Dress AND Your Story

Do you have an absolutely gorgeous gown just hanging around because you only wore it once for a special event? At Twice Upon a Dress, we can use these existing resources for existing needs. We take your dresses to Africa, to sell and support education costs for orphaned children. And as we gratefully accept your dresses, we also want to hear about why these dresses are so special. Donate your dress and share a photo and event story and we will feature you here. Tell us your stories, as little or as much as you want to share. We would love to see all your gorgeous weddings and events be remembered and also live on! Email us at twiceuponadressglobal@gmail.com.

Send Your Dress to School in Africa

Patrick Demarchelier for Vogue Paris, October 2005

You may have seen the article last month in Vogue that sought to find solutions with what to do with a wedding or bridesmaid dress. They can always be repurposed but they can also be given away. Twice Upon a Dress is an answer. Donate your wedding dress to us. Your spare bridal, bridesmaid or formal dress can simply be mailed to us and we will sell it in Africa, where such luxuries are rare and the profits will go 100% toward education in Africa. Your special day can become a special lifelong difference for a child. We benefit Malawi, Africa with over 1 million orphaned children. Here are some photos by Peter Belvin of a government school in Malawi. If you have a dress to donate, please email us at twiceuponadressglobal@gmail.com

What's Your Story?

Rosemary Ferguson and Jake Chapman hiding a kiss, Vogue, 2004

Do you have a dress worn on a special occasion? Are you holding on to the dress for its memory? What if you could tell your dress story, and then let that dress make a lasting difference in the life of a young scholar? We would like you to share your dress story here, the stories not many know, and the great photos not many have seen. Share your favorite moments, best photos, all the fun the details with us, to be posted here when you donate your dress to support education in Africa.

Your memorable dress can transform someone else's entire lifetime.

How to help?
We accept dresses year round for specific trips to Malawi. We need like-new bridal, bridesmaid and formal dresses in great condition, ideally from the past five years.
Step 1. Take a photo of your dress and email it to us at twiceuponadress@gmail.com
Step 2. We reply with the next deadline and closest mailing address.
Step 3. Package and ship your dress.
Step 4. Be sure to email us your dress story:
-Event
-Event date
-Quality photo of the special event (250 pixels+)

Please follow us here and at Facebook and Twitter. We will be featuring your dress stories on this blog. Those dresses will be sold in Africa to support education of young scholars, whose stories we will also tell here.
